Overnight Camps - Stanford Volleyball

All three Overnight Camps are closed for online registration. If you would like to be added to the wait list for Camp #1, Camp #8, or Camp #9, please download an application and send it with the full payment to the address below. We will hold your check until your daughter is admitted into camp. If she is does not get into the camp, the check will be returned to you.

Our camps are open to any and all entrants. For your safety and benefit, we recommend that you choose a camp that fits your particular skills and level of development.
  Advanced Setters Camp    
  Camp 1 July 9 - 12
Tues-Fri
9th - 12th grade only $660 resident
$530 commuter

This camp is a unique approach for a limited number of players who strive to improve their setting skills. There will be a ratio of only 4 players to each coach. The instruction will be focused and individualized.

$525 commuter

This camp is geared to advanced high school players looking to maximize their volleyball potential. Players whose goals are to improve their technique and tactical knowledge will find a challenging and rigorous program with excellent competition and outstanding instruction.

   Advanced Skills Camp - Setters Only

9th - 12th grade only $800
(resident only)

This camp is geared to advanced high school setters looking to maximize their volleyball potential.  Camp 9 is for setters only and has very limited space.  The camp will have some separate setter only sessions and will also be incorporated into the camp 8 sessions.  Most of the instruction will be focused and individualized.

There is a $100 administrative fee (per camp) for ALL cancellations prior to May 1. No refund will be given for cancellations after May 1.

OVERNIGHT CAMP INFORMATION

Deposit/Cancellations:

  • $150 deposit (per camp).
  • Balance is due by May 1.  If you have registered online, your balance will automatically be charged to the credit card on file.  If you would like to pay your balance by check, please send the check by April 15 so you are not charged twice.  If you would like to use a different card, please update your account prior to May 1.
  • Evaluation Information is required during the online registration process.  Please fill in all of the information that is required.  Also, note that you can update your information up to June 1.  The following information is asked: number of years of school volleyball (4-8th grade, JV and Varsity), number of years of club volleyball (non-travel/area and travel teams) and self evaluation number.  The self evaluation number iis on a 1-10 scale (1-3 is beginner, 4-7 is intermediate, and 8-10 is advanced).  We ask that you consult with your daughter’s current coaches for her evaluation number.  This information needs to be updated by June 1.
  • Camps 1, 8 and 9 Airport Information (if applicable) is due on June 1.

Registration:

Registration is at Wilbur Hall (Setters’ Camp, July 9) / Manzanita Park (Skills Camp, July 13). These dorms are located in the southeast section of the campus on Escondido Road.

Registration is from 11:00 – 11:30 a.m. on July 9 (Camp 1 – residents only) and / or July 13 (Camp 8- residents only). Camp activities will begin as soon as registration is over, so please be prompt. Your daughter will be staying in Wilbur Hall - Setters’ Camp / Manzanita Park - Skills Camp. (Please note that the exact dorm has not been determined. You will be informed of this as soon as it is finalized). Commuter campers will check in at 12:30 pm at Maples Pavilion.

Registration for Camp 9 will be on Friday, July 12, at 4 p.m. The exact dorm will be finalized soon and the information will be sent to you.

Can I Register Through the Mail

You may download the application and send it to the Volleyball Office with your payment.  You will be sent a User Name and Password in your confirmation letter.  You will then go to the online system and enter the Information needed to complete your registration (Insurance, Evaluation, and Stanford Liablity Waiver).  [top]

Commuter Campers:

Commuter campers must register the first day only at Maples Pavilion from 12:30 – 12:45 pm on July 9 (Camp 1) and / or July 13 (Camp 8).  All other days, commuter campers should arrive at Maples Pavilion no later than 8:45 each morning for Roll Call.  They should be picked up in the evening at Maples no later than 9:15 pm.  The person picking them up each evening must sign out campers with the trainer.  The last session will be held in Maples for final pickup.  If you need to purchase parking passes, please go to the Parking and Transportation Services located at 340 Bonair Siding (the building in the southeast corner of the Maples Parking Lot), 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. Checkout:

All campers will be checked out at 3:30 pm at Maples on the last day of camp for camps 1, 8 and 9.

Residence:

As stated earlier, campers and staff will reside in Wilbur Hall - Setters’ Camp / Manzanita Park- Skills Camp.  The dorm will have day and night supervision during camp.  NO BEDDING IS PROVIDEDPlease bring a sleeping bag or sheets and blankets, a pillow and a towel.   [top]

Key Deposit:

We will not be collecting a key deposit this year.  Please be aware that you will be charged $125 if your daughter loses her key during the camp.  We will inform you and/or your daughter about the fee before you leave camp on the last day.  [top]

What to Bring:

Overnight campers must bring bedding (i.e. sleeping bag) and towels.  In addition, campers should pack at least 4 t-shirts, 4 pairs of shorts, a pair of court shoes (preferably not brand new), 8 pairs of socks, a sweatshirt, pajamas, flip-flops, and toiletries    [top]

Rules:

Campers should be in their rooms by 10:30 pm and "lights out" is at 11:00 pm. Drugs, alcohol and smoking are strictly forbidden at camp and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal without a refund.  If there is any damage to the dorm rooms, it will be assessed at checkout and will be paid for by the responsible parties.  [top]

Security:

For the security of her personal belongings, please remind your daughter to keep her doors and windows locked whenever she is not in her room, and remind her to keep her key with her at all times.  Please leave any valuables at home.  Stanford Volleyball Camp and Stanford University are not responsible for lost or missing items.  [top]

Travel:

For those campers arriving by air, please make your reservations into and out of San Jose Airport ONLY.  Please fill out the Airport Information by June 1.  We will be charging a $15 airport transportation fee for each way.  Please go online to pay for this charge or send a check to the Volleyball Office by June 1.   We will arrange to have a staff person pick up your daughter at the airport baggage claim area.  We will confirm your flight plans by email. Our staff person will be wearing Stanford Volleyball attire for easy identification.  At the end of camp, we will also return your daughter to the San Jose airport for her return home if you have registered her for the airport return.

Please plan for her to arrive in San Jose between 8:30 am – 10:30 am on July 9 (Camp 1) and / or July 13 (Camp 8) and to depart no earlier than 5:30 pm on July 12 (Camp 1) and / or July 16 (Camp 8). For Camp 9 please plan to arrive in San Jose between 1-3 pm on July 12 and to depart no earlier than 5:30 pm on July 16.

Remember that we MUST have your flight information no later than BY JUNE 1, or we will not be able to accommodate you.  If you cannot arrive / depart at the San Jose Airport between these times, please make your own arrangements for transportation to campus.  PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR ID.

For those arriving by car, use the Stanford visitors map web site. Find the map that shows directions from the major freeways.  Campers who drive themselves will be required to park their cars for the duration of camp.  Parking passes are available for $4.50 per day.  These are available to purchase at check-in. Parking:

It is recommended that anyone who plans to watch his or her daughter during the week purchase a parking pass.  Passes may be purchased at Parking and Transportation Services located at 340 Bonair Siding (the building in the southeast corner of the Maples Parking Lot), 7:30 am – 5:00 pm.  Also, there are metered lots near each gym.  No permits are needed for the weekends or after 4 pm on weekdays.  Please be aware of the construction around Maples Pavilion.  We are advising campers to park in the parking lots by Sunken Diamond and the Stadium. [top]

Information Needed

Insurance and Medical Care:

Each camper must be covered by her parents' medical insurance.  A professional medical trainer is on duty at all physical activities during the day and resides in the dorm at night.  Campers wishing to be taped must provide their own tape and pre-wrap.  If your daughter is injured and needs to be taken to Emergency, we will attempt to contact you first.  If we are unable to contact you immediately, your daughter's safety is our first concern and she will be taken to the proper medical facility.  Every attempt will be made to contact you as soon as possible. [top]

Volleyball Gear

All campers will be provided with a camp t-shirt, and a Nike bag.  Campers will need to provide their own shirts, shorts, shoes and kneepads.

Camp Store:

There will be a camp store that will be open at check-in, check-out and during certain hours of the camp.  Stanford Volleyball apparel will be on sale as well as sodas and snacks. [top]

Watching Your Daughter Play:

You are welcome to attend any session of camp to watch your daughter play.  A master schedule with group locations will be posted in Maples Pavilion daily.  Four gym facilities will be used for these camps: Maples Pavilion, Arrillaga Practice Gym, Burnham Pavilion & Ford Center.[top]
